Ron Burgandy Confirms – Anchorman 2 is Happening

Last night on Conan from out of no where, brash news anchor Ron Burgandy appeared playing his flute.

He went on to make fun of Conan, and then make one major, shocking announcement…take a look.

That’s right!! The day has finally come – a sequel to the hilarious Anchorman is finally happening. This was originally suppose to happen right after the first one was released. Writer and director Adam McKay said the pitch to the studio was an all-out musical with the entire cast on broadway for four months. The studio said no and then buried the idea to bring back the Action 4 News team.

Apparently sources said yesterday afternoon word started getting around that Will Ferrell would be appearing on Conan as Burgandy, but it wasn’t confirmed. Until he actually showed up.

Judd Apatow will be producing, McKay writing and directing, and most importantly the gang is coming back.

Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Will Ferrell have all signed on for the sequel. I assume it’s just a matter of time before Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Fred Williard and other classic characters sign on too.

It’s been eight years since Anchorman hit theaters, and since then every person in the cast essentially became a big time comedy star. So bringing all these guys back now with their fame and new comedy acumen, it should lead to another very funny classic film.

Megan Fox, A Comedy Star?

That’s the potential idea Judd Apatow has for his next film.

Megan Fox is in negotiations to star alongside Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in Apatow’s latest project for Universal.

Rudd and Mann are going to be reprising their characters  from Apatow’s “Knocked Up” in a new story by the comedy laden Director.

What Apatow has in mind for Fox’s role is being kept a big secret.

While this may not be a good idea on the surface, as Fox is a yearly contender for the Razzies award for Worst Actor/Actress, you have to put some faith in the script and Apatow’s direction.

Now we wait and see.
