Trailer: The Watch

Formally known as Neighborhood Watch now just The Watch, apparently to distance itself from the Trayvon Martin case, gets a dirty new red band trailer.

You know what that means, NSFW.

The sci-fi comedy stars Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, and Richard Ayoade as a group of neighbors protecting their turf from an apparent alien invasion. The trailer shows what you might expect from this group; cursing, dirty jokes, and a bunch of nonsense.

The film also stars Billy Crudup, Will Forte, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Nicholas Braun.

The Watch hits theaters on July 27th, 2012.

Synopsis:

An outrageous comedy in which four everyday suburban guys (played by Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade) come together to form a neighborhood watch group, but only as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week.  But when they accidentally discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, they have no choice but to save their neighborhood — and the world — from total extermination.

Vaughn and Wilson Reunite for The Internship

Another Wedding Crashers? Not exactly, but Hopefully this can be on par.

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are joining forces again to star in a comedy that’s written by Vaughn. Titled The Internship, the film sees Vaughn and Wilson playing two old-fashioned salesmen who haven’t kept up with the digital age.  When they suddenly become unemployed, they attempt to remake themselves by interning at a major tech company.

Shooting is set to being in June.

Trailer: Neighborhood Watch

One of the big time comedies of 2012 has finally released a trailer, be it a short teaser version.

Neighborhood Watch stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill, along with Richard Ayoade who form a watch group to protect a would be upscale neighborhood.

Eventually they end up stumbling onto an alien plot to destroy the world.

Neighborhood Watch opens in theaters July 27th, 2012.

First Look – Neighborhood Watch

Here is a comedy coming out next year that boasts a solid cast, and has an great plot that hopefully will be a riot.

Neighborhood Watch stars Richard Ayoade, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and Jonah Hill, and is about  a group of suburban dads who form a neighborhood watch group to get time away from their families, only to discover a plot to destroy Earth.

Seth Rogen is one of the writers of the screen play, so hopefully this packs a comedic punch.

Neighborhood Watch hits theaters July 27th, 2012.

Anticipating: Lay the Favorite

Hollywood has had it’s fair share of gambling movies, but not many have been worth watching.

Now a gambling comedy film, in the same sense as “Let it Ride” is on the way.

With big names.

Rebecca Hall will star in the true story of Beth Raymer, a woman who fell into professional gambling in Las Vegas.

Raymer, who started off as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas, soon rose to become one of the world’s best gamblers. After falling in love, Raymer soon begins to re-evaluate her life and the profession she has chosen.

The movie also stars Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Frank Grillo and Joshua Jackson.

The latest name to join is Vince Vaughn who will co-star next to Willis and Hall.

In February this film was in serious jeopardy of getting canned even with Hall and Willis on board. Apparently Focus Features wanted the film to get some more big names, and they had done that.

Vaughn will play a Long Island bookie that Beth Raymer once worked for.

Justin Timberlake was previously attached to this part but he dropped out. Hall will be playing the film’s version of Raymer, who helps a down-on-his-luck gambler, played by Willis, “gain an edge on the Vegas sports book system.”

Production on the film has already started.

Review: The Dilemma

When will Hollywood learn?

The cliche plot that’s been done to death with A-List actors, is just a recipe for disaster.

I went into this viewing expecting to see a bad movie, in a way to prepare myself for the worst, and or be thoroughly surprised if it didn’t bomb.

It did.

Vince Vaughn is paired with Kevin James, two guys who have made their mark in film on their slapstick comedy. The sad part is their chemistry, one-liners and overall execution of a poor script was mundane and flat.

The story is simple; two best friends, both in seemingly great relationships until one finds out the others wife is cheating on him. Now Vaughn’s character, Ronny has to decide how and when to tell Nick (James) so that his relationship survives.

BORING.

How many times has this plot been done? Seriously Hollywood…running out of ideas or what?

Jennifer Connelly plays Vaughn’s love interest while, Winona Ryder plays James’.

Pretty surprising that Connelly continues to take these rom-com roles when she has the acting skills to be so much better, like she showed in “A Beautiful Mind” and “Blood Diamond” yet we have seen her in this role time after time.

Ryder takes this role after a strong supporting job in “Black Swan” it just screams, collecting a check.

The film is boring, predictable and for being a romance-comedy it really lacks both.

Channing Tatum stars as the trouble-making home wrecker. All you see are cut off sleeves and tattoo’s coupled with yelling, bats and guns. It’s a typical role in this type of film, but again you have to ask why is this actor taking this role? Tatum has been slowly working his way up the ladder in the movie world, but taking films like this is a step back.

I found myself checking the time and my brain wandering off, as “The Dilemma” to fall asleep began to surface. All that echos is a testament to the movie not being able to keep the viewers attention.

Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Maybe on a rainy day in October later this year when you have noting to do, rent this but that’s as far as I’ll ever go.

I’d have to say this is an early front runner for worst comedy of the year.
