Jim Carrey Leaves Dumb and Dumber Sequel

I hated the idea of a sequel to Dumb and Dumber in the first place, now it seems like Jim Carrey did as well.

Back in October it was reported that Carrey was set to reunited with Jeff Daniels to co star in the sequel to the classic Dumb and Dumber, but now a “frustrated” Carrey will not return as Lloyd Christmas.

Carrey says there is a lack of enthusiasm and support from Warner Bros.

I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer,” Carrey said in a statement to ETonline, “after all it’s implied in the title.”

Original writer-directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly were going to produce and direct the sequel.

With Carrey out, continuing with the sequel doesn’t make sense, nor will people flock to theaters to see it. I don’t really blame Carrey, but clearly Warner Bros. knows that the desire for the sequel can’t be that overwhelming.

Trailer: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2

I don’t get it, I really don’t but I understand others love this series, so here’s the new trailer everyone has been waiting for.

Apparently today is Edward Cullen’s 111th birthday, so Summit has released a new teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

The film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

The film hits theaters on November 16, 2012.

Trailer: Monsters University

In 2001 Pixar put out the hit Monsters Inc. 12 years later, Monsters University will hit theaters.

This is the teaser trailer, as the film centers around Mike and Sulley back in their college days.

Billy Crystal and John Goodman lead a voice cast that includes Steve Buscemi, Ken Jeong, Kelsey Grammer, Rob Riggle and JB Smoove.

The movie comes out a year from tomorrow.

Rob Zombie Sets Sights on Broad Street Bullies

Known for his horror films, as much as his music these days, Rob Zombie is putting the gore aside, but not the blood.

The next project for Zombie will be a venture into the sports world, as he tackles Broad Street Bullies, the famous nickname for the 1970’s Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. Known for their fighting with opponents on the ice, the team won two Stanley Cups, and are now infamous.

Zombie will write and produce the movie, which he called Rocky meets Boogie Nights on ice.

HBO produced a documentary in 2010 with the same name that covers the same material, but Zombie acquired the rights to the story and has the full support of the Philadelphia Flyers organization.

I wonder how hockey fans feel about Zombie; who has a dark take on all his films, and how his style will translate into a story like this?
